Education Committee

The purpose of the Education Committee is to provide educational opportunities of various formats on green building practices, products, and projects.  The objective of the educational programs is to strengthen the Green Building Movement by offering relevant information and strategies to a broad base of professionals, homeowners, and the general public.

In response to this task, the Committee hosts several educational opportunities throughout the year.  These include:

  • Monthly Luncheons – Join us the first Wednesday of each month for an informative presentation while you enjoy lunch and networking.  We are currently meeting each month at the MCM Elegante at 2020 Menaul Blvd NE in Albuquerque.  The luncheons are $25.00 for members, $30.00 for non-members, and $18 for Emerging Green Builders members.   Click here for the schedule and to RSVP.
  • Salons – Happening in the evenings on the fourth Wednesday of each month.  Discuss topics that require shared knowledge as participants share information about green building, materials and LEED strategies.  The salons are FREE.  Please click here for the current schedule and meeting places.
  • Workshops – Scheduled in a comfortable venue with a half or full-day format.  The programs are developed by knowledgeable experts.  These programs require registration and a fee.  Click here for scheduled workshops and to register.
  • Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) – Training sessions tailored to various green building professions.  Look for seminars, classes, or workshops to help you obtain or maintain various certifications.   These programs require registration and a fee.  Click here for scheduled workshops and to register.

In addition, volunteers are welcomed and needed to fulfill our purpose.  If you have an interest and a bit of time, please consider joining our committee.  We would also like to hear your ideas, concerns.  Please contact the Education Committee at education@usgbcnm.org  with your ideas, concerns, or to contribute to our mission.  Thank you.
